Women's Golf Programs

Our Calgary golf academy offers lessons for women at all skill levels.

  • 6 Week Group Lessons - Women’s group golf lessons occur once a week for an hour. No matter your skill level, you will be challenged every week and will learn how to use every club in your bag.
  • Personalized Group Golf CoachingThis program is ideal for those with some experience. Coaching groups are directed at skills development in various aspects of the game. Students will learn what and how to practice and how to measure improvement.
  • Half Day Golf Camps - Learn everything you need to konw or refresh your memory with a Half Day Short Game or Full Swing Camp.  Camps are 3 hours in length and will learn everything you need to know to improve your game for lower scores.
  • Drop In Group Lessons - If you need some information on how to improve a specific area of your game a drop in group lesson has everything you need. We cover topics that will help you hit longer drives, make more putts, improve your contact and find more consistency in your golf game.

Group Lessons (6 weeks)

Women's group golf lessons meet once per week for one full hour, for six weeks in a group setting. They offer a set, in-house developed curriculum covering all aspects of the game, for six golfers. Because of this, instruction is taught consistently regardless of instructor. You don’t need to worry about missing a topic or drill. We have developed the program to ensure that no matter your skill level you will be challenged every week and learn to use every club in your bag.

Historically, golf has excluded women from the sport, and there is still no Master’s Tournament for women. We believe anyone can--and should!--learn golf, and can play it well. There has even been a rise in father-daughter golf outings, including a tournament in Ireland, to encourage women to golf.

Golf Performance Canada provides an opportunity to meet other players at your skill level through our community, which can make learning more fun. Golf isn’t just a series of motions, it’s a mentality and both need to be exercised. After your time with us you’ll be ready to show off at the City of Calgary’s ladies’ golf nights, where you can win prizes and enjoy wine tasting. Our PGA-certified professionals teach at two different Calgary locations depending on the season to allow for year-round instruction.

Personalized Group Golf Coaching (Monthly)

Personalized Golf coaching groups start with an evaluation of every part of your game.  We will then create a personalized practice plan specific to you. Groups will consist of up to six golfers each and will meet weekly at your selected day and time. We will identify 3 areas of focus for your improvement as well as maintenance drills to ensure the other areas of your game stay strong.  Coaching groups are directed at skills development in various aspects of the game. Students learn what to practice, how to practice, and how to measure improvement. Your practice plan will be adjusted at your request as you progress.

This is true game advancement. The program duration forces a commitment from the student and PGA of Canada-certified professionals produce results. A three-month minimum commitment is a crucible that forces you to set goals and strive for them and then modify and adjust them as you improve.

Your coach will meet with you weekly and work through a step-by-step weekly practice routine. Each week you will challenge different areas of your game with drills and games to help you lower those scores.

Golf Fitness

Golf can be an integral part of your health management-and a fun part, at that. We provide fitness classes with Swing Doctor designed to keep you in shape for your golf game so your golf game can in turn keep you in shape.

Golf has many health benefits, including:

  • The movements and techniques used in golf help improve balance, which is especially important as you age.
  • The social and outdoors aspects can help reduce stress--unless you’re golfing for business! But then, you can work on advancing your career instead.
  • Carrying your own clubs improves bone health as a weight-bearing exercise. It’s also a sport that can be picked up at any age, making it a good choice for health-conscious seniors.

All classes are taught by Calgary's top golf trainer, Johnny Goyetche. If you need some extra help or would like one-on-one time you can contact Johnny by email.
